Anthony Drive in Newnan to be closed for work beginning April 5

Anthony Drive will be closed to traffic for drainage work beginning on April 5. Local access will be maintained from either Elaine Drive or Jefferson Street.

“Drivers should plan travel in this area accordingly”, said Newnan Public Works Director Michael Klahr. “The repaired section of road will be worth the time and inconvenience the road is closed.”

The Youth Council had the chance to visit with Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue and also Lt Governor Casey Cagle. Local indie recording artists Legal Eyed Drive will be holding a CD release party for their self-titled debut album at 8 p.m. tomorrow (March 19) at The Alamo in Newnan, Ga.

The band has been playing a limited schedule of selected venues to prepare for the recording of their first release. They have frequently played at local establishments in and around the Atlanta area. Erin Daye Moore and Brandon Mark Bangsboll were married at Dunaway Gardens in Newnan on Oct. 10, 2009. The bride’s pastor, the Rev. Justin Kollmeyer, conducted the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Moore of Brooks. She is the granddaughter of Lee Goddard of Lawrenceville and Jennie Mae Moore and the late Daye Moore of Old Fort, Tenn. She is a graduate of Fayette County High School with an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s from Georgia Institute of Technology. Martin L. Justice, 29, of Newnan died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

He was born June 9, 1980 in Atlanta to Kyle & Gay Justice.
