Two street thugs were being arrested in Atlanta and canine control was on the scene taking possession of a vicious-looking pit bull, apparently owned by one of the men being arrested.  It took more personnel to control the pit bull than it did to detain and arrest the two grown men.  Read More»

I attended a funeral service last Saturday morning. I didn’t know the deceased or his family, although I know one of his very close friends. Robert W. Collins was eulogized, mourned, honored, and remembered at Fayetteville’s New Hope Baptist Church, possibly the only church in the county large enough to hold the massive crowd gathered for the service.

First Lieutenant Robert Collins, a 2004 graduate of Sandy Creek High School and a 2008 graduate of the United State Military Academy at West Point, was killed in Iraq on April 7. Read More»

Last week the House convened for legislative days 34-36. With only four days left in the legislative session the pace of bills on the floor has picked up tremendously. The time remaining where a bill can come out of committee and still be considered by the full House is almost at an end, so a tremendous amount of activity has occurred in recent days by members and committees alike attempting to move important legislation out of committee and on to the floor of the House.
