To many citizens it is mystifying why, in the current economy, so many Americans are still casting their votes for President Obama.

They cite statistics like 23 million people unemployed or under-employed, one out of six Americans in poverty (earning less than $23,000 per year), net incomes decreasing by more than $4,000 per year, and an increase in the cost of living.

I have two boys, and like most boys they love to wrestle. Many times, however, their wrestling turns to full-blown fights. I never really understood the power of the culture to change and redefine morality until I watched the film, “The Bridges of Madison County,” with two of my girlfriends.

The movie was basically about the plight of a desperately “unloved” wife who discovered a passionate “love” with a drifter, but ultimately stayed in her marriage for the sake of her family.

While I knew there was a contingent in our society that have contempt for traditional values, I did not think we were at that day when simply expressing those values would be vilified and construed as undermining our country, but that is exactly what is happening to a brand that I love — Chick-fil-A.
