New Nativity Players drama group will present ‘A Mouse Christmas’ December 22
The Nativity Players, a newly formed drama group at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fayetteville, will present “A Mouse Christmas” Saturday, Dec. 22.
Performances will be given at 4 and 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church, located at 130 Antioch Road, just off Ga. Highway 85.
The program will be open to the public.
No admission price will be charged, although an offering will be received.
Julie Harper is director of the production. The set was designed by Ron Gross, who has Broadway theater experience, and by Vic Cornetto. Both are Nativity parishioners.
“A Mouse Christmas,” written by Bruce and Jennifer Searl, is a musical play that retells the traditional Christmas story from the perspective of two mice who accompanied Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus.
Harper said that, although the show is designed primarily for children, it has an appeal for adults as well. About two-thirds of the 28-member cast are children.
Harper said The Nativity Players theatrical group was recently organized as part of the parish’s community outreach and religious education program. More dramatic productions are planned during the coming year.
