Matthew Shirley is new associate pastor at Woolsey Baptist Church

Woolsey Baptist Church, 115 Hampton Rd. in Fayetteville, has a new associate pastor of worship, senior adults and global missions, Matthew Shirley of Honea Path, S.C.

Shirley became a Christian in 1995. He later committed his life and vocation to making and training disciples of Jesus.

He is a May 2012 graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and he received a bachelor of arts in Christian ministry from Anderson University in December 2006.

Shirley has served in local churches in South Carolina and Kentucky. He has also traveled overseas on mission trips to France, Canada, Taiwan, and Turkey.
