Teen killed in auto accident in Coweta

A Nov. 23 traffic accident on Ga. Highway 16 claimed the life of 18-year-old Fayette County resident Erik Bradley Lindstrom.

Lt. John LaChance with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred Friday morning on Hwy. 16 as Lindstrom was returning to his Fayette County home near Senoia after working a 12-hour shift at the Best Buy store in Newnan.

LaChance said Lindstrom’s vehicle drifted across the double-yellow line and went under the trailer of an oncoming logging truck near the trailer’s rear wheels. LaChance said it is believed that Lindstrom had fallen asleep.

The accident occurred on Hwy. 16 near Turin.

Lindstrom had to be extricated from the vehicle and was pronounced dead a short time later at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, LaChance said.

Lindstrom was a graduate of Whitewater High School.

A memorial service will be held today (Wednesday) at the Mowell funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville.
