FREE SPEECH for the week of Sept. 24 – Sept. 30

Free Speechers, here’s your “have at it” page again.

Post on topic or off topic or make up your own topic.

Here are some anonymous contributions that showed up in my email last week to get your pumps primed.

========================

I have some advice on how to fix our messed up schools and budget deficit. Don’t cut the teacher pay, but cut their extra supplement by 5%, start charging for school busses, collect all the money we are owed from the out of county kids who have been caught in our schools illegally and do NOT let them back in, quit letting kids go to different schools in the county with “special permission” as that is what messed up our schools to begin with, get rid of the senior tax exemption if they have grandkids living with them that are in our schools, and start charging the out of county teachers kids that go to our schools. Maybe even stop serving hot meals. Not popular decisions, but necessary to save our school system. There you have it, and the advice was free.

WOW,WOW,WOW. I just got put in the group that doesn’t pay federal income tax. The group that Romney says he doesn”t worry about because we expect the gov’t to take care us. My wife and I paid income tax until our retirement. Our retirement is not enough that we have to pay income tax. Mr. Romney, you really are out of touch with the lower middle class. I get nothing, natta, from the government; never have. Mr. Romney, you need to go into the cities and go to the poorer areas in the morning. You would see thousands of people going to work every morning on the subways and buses. Most of these folks go to jobs that do not pay a living wage. Mr. Romney, many of the folks clean homes, cars, offices, and have more than one generation living in a small apartment and they need government’s help. These folks furnish the young to fight our wars. How much is it worth to you, Mr. Romney, to have the poor kids to die in war so that you and the higher class won’t have to? You just lost our vote. — Senoia, Ga.

E-gad. Yet another, too lengthy, dissertation from that Mr Parker in Peachtee City. ENOUGH! Even the AJC limits letter, faxes and e-mails to so many words or less. His using The Citizen to hear himself talk (and voicing his political views among other things) is getting to be too much. Who made him king? I'm just about ready to just throw your paper in the trash when it shows up, because it is the same thing over and over (about the same stuff, from the same people). We are just WEARY of it. Must say, though, I love the editorial cartoons!

Thank you for the excellent article by Derek Wolter. It was superb. Kudos to you for giving us a good dose of thinking print.

If you travel on North Robinson Road PTC

A developer is seeking a variance to the city ordinance regarding residential driveway access directly on Robinson Road between Windgate Road and Whitfield Run. Traffic runs fast on Robinson Road to have cars backing out onto the street. A special meeting is being held Sept, 18 for public discussion of the matter.
The Fayette Daily News

Notice of Public Hearing

The Mayor and City Council of Peachtree City will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 7:00 P.M. It will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at 151 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City. All interested parties are invited to attend and be heard.

The purpose of the hearing is to allow for public discussion of a proposed variance for the property located at 424 Robinson Road. The subject tract is 4.36 acres in size and is zoned R-43 Residential. Martin Dodson Homes desires to remove the existing home and then subdivide the overall tract into four one-acre lots to accommodate four custom homes.

The city s Thoroughfare Plan classifies Robinson Road as a community collector. Section 803(a)(6) of the city s Street Design and Construction Standards Ordinance stipulates No direct residential access (drive cuts) onto arterials and collector thoroughfares shall be allowed unless a variance is first granted by the city council of Peachtree City.

The Applicant is requesting a variance from Section 803(a)(6), specifically to permit the relocation of an existing driveway, which would become a shared driveway and provide access to two of the new residential lots, and to construct a new driveway onto Robinson Road to provide access to one of the new residential lots.

An existing shared driveway would provide access to the fourth residential lot. The existing driveway provides access to three residential lots behind the Hayes tract, and the Applicant desires to utilize this driveway to provide access to one of the new residential lots. In order to do so, the Applicant is requesting a variance from the definition of driveways as included within the Land Development Ordinance, which stipulates residential driveways shall not serve more than two single-family residential lots.

Information pertaining to this public hearing is available at City Hall, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.

Barry Obama will be in DeKalb county Tuesday

The ruse he is putting on says he will be here to talk at the CDC about ebola.

The real reason he is here is to campaign for Nunn and Carter. He will be teaching the corrupt community organizers (of which he is king) of metro Atlanta how to phony up the ballot boxes with fraudulent voter forms from people who don't exist. You remember, a new ACORN. This time it's called The New Georgia Project. Housed out of a hotel in the city. Even Coweta County has received these phony voter registrations.

I bet our very own Board of Elections has been dealing with them. Seems these phony registration forms are the responsibility of each county elections office to verify authenticity. So, The New Georgia Project has been swamping county elections offices with them, and if the elections office does not have the staff or the where with all to research the validity, viola, a Nunn new voter on the rolls.

Nunn is a big deal for Barry. Moochelle met with her last week, then Bill Clinton met with her and now Barry. The machine is in overdrive. Barry is at a fundraiser thrown tonight in DC by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee..lining up some cash for Nunn and some more DC dirty political ads.

Of course, this is the new, focused prezbo. He said he is actually going to work all week and not play golf.

MLC & POTUS visit to ATL

Your vision got clouded by the smoke--real reason is to campaign for Carter and Martin-Nunn Political gain is always at the forefront with him and OH but wait--tfc problems? Hey, they're just citizens who don't understand the importance of what I'm here for! Just another example of his "me and the Dem Candidates first" thought process.

Here we go again--sending our troops into harm's way. It is not

enough that so many came home maimed in body and spirit fighting for a lost cause, now we will send them where ebola is rampant. I do not know how in good conscience we can send our young people there when the diagnosis seems to be certain death--or will they be used as guinea pigs to test the new antidotes? On top of that we will be sending millions of dollars that have been borrowed to yet another country. So who is there who will come to our rescue when we are attacked--who's troops will fight for our freedom, who's coffers will be emptied to re-build our country? I hope the day never comes when we will have to find out but we will be heading in that direction if we continue to spread ourselves so thin for every other country while neglecting our own borders and needs at home. As a strong, healthy country we can help others; depleted, with a tired, sick, understaffed military and old, worn-out infrastructure and constituency we can be of no help to ourselves much less others. Let's wake up to where we are heading.

I agree. It is insane to send them over there. They are being put in harm's way, and so will we if they bring the virus home. Obama is really doing a stupid thing.

A sobering moment. Seeing again all the people who stepped up

makes you more than proud to be an American. It is so sad to see the agony some of those firefighters are living now due to what happened to them back then. We owe them everything we have to make their lives and those of their families as pain and worry free as possible. We may not forget but we push it to the back of our minds and we need to keep it close so we never forget. God Bless and keep our country free.

Thanks to my fifty buck investment years ago for my Otterbox cover, my 4 is in pristine condition.

My bro works for the company that is doing the logistics and reverse logistics of this mammoth trade in and sale for AT&T and Apple. They had to open at least one additional warehouse workplace to handle it. He has been incommunicado for months and now I know why.

add to your collection a nifty Apple Watch to go with your 5S. Together (need to keep the 5S for the watch to work) you could strap it on and go. And record 12 hours of your movements, heartrate and just about every bodily function. You even can send a red heart symbol to your lover with your actual recorded heartbeat. For a paltry $399 for the starter model. If you want the 18 karat gold model, well, better be ready to fork it over, the price isn't even out there yet. Better have a heart monitor on when you see that. Above my pay level, for sure. And my need level, too.

The community will really miss Mr. Truett.

I remember years ago, shopping at Greenbrier Mall (when it was safe and nice) on the day the first Chic-Fil-A opened. They had employees standing at the front of the store handing out samples and coupons. Before that he had the Dwarf House near the airport. Look what it has grown to become.

Mr. Truett has helped many young people get an education and has done many wonderful things for the area, especially where needy young people are concerned. It is a world of difference to go into a Chic-Fil-A as opposed to the other fast food places. His employees are always neat, always greet you politely with a smile, and act as if they care that you are there. Not so at the other places. I am sure his son will carry on his legacy. He will be missed.

Butler building on JC Booth school grounds..

Built right up the hill from the Parkway....someone tell me this is not the final exterior finish on this building. No way a regular property owner in that area of town could get an approval for such an ugly building. It doesn't fit at all. What was the School Board thinking? Hideous is being kind to this building in that spot.

Slow motion war

Russia retaliates with bans on food imports from EU, U.S.
Farmers in Eastern Europe will be most affected, this is another fine mess our brilliant President has gotten us into.

Trade wars, especially surrounding food only play into the hands of dictators that want more power from a dependent population.

It can all end poorly for the world when the actual shooting breaks out.

At some point we need to decide based on the facts what our energy policy will be in the West, we can rely on the Mid-East and Russia or we can be self reliant. Let's not confuse the "Green" movement with the hydrocarbon reality and a road to world peace. Our need for oil is funding our enemies, let's snap out of it. Start drilling and building our own domestic refineries if we don't want to be blackmailed by tin star second rate dictators. Let them go deal with their domestic issues without blaming us for all their problems. Russia is in trouble, so is the Middle East our only interest in them is oil, let's cut it off.

Where you been? Kroger is doing a 43,000 sq. ft. expansion. They have taken over the shops on either end of their building and will expand on both ends upward and back into the woods. The back driveway will be just about along the cart path back there in a few areas when done in the fall of 2015. Here is some of it below:

http://thecitizen.com/articles/01-31-2013/braelinn-kroger-expansion-gets...

They are building a new path entrance point to the shopping center down closer to Crosstown Grille that will stay in place during construction and after, since the one next to El Ranchero is closed due to construction. The original path will reopen after construction again, too.

Obama's Ebola?

Am I the only one seeing the very obvious political motive behind the bruhaha being made about these 2 patients? The timing of it all? Today, we have a 12 noon touch down at Dobbins, just in time for the lunch hour news cycle. Coincidence? I think not. We have 3 black SUV's lined up to escort the ambulance, in addition to law enforcement and news crews lining the route and CNN headquarters right nearby. Coincidence? I think not.

All in time for Barry's African summit today with a state dinner tonight. All in time for Barry to hold the largest international gathering in DC ever. Other political and business leaders from Africa have been invited. A slew of street closures are planned for downtown DC in the next 3 days. The Office of Personnel Management has advised that federal employees work from home.

Funny, too, how the CDC is being given all this positive press time, in light of 2 very unprofessional actions by their employees in the last few months. Coincidence? I think not.

Where is the focus on these 2 humble and giving medical professionals? Give them and their families their privacy as they come home to heal.

Barry's virus, use it for all the political gain you can while an election is coming up. Meanwhile, a US General is killed in Afghanistan. How much time will the media devote to that travesty in the next 3 days? This is made public by the Pentagon at the same time as the Ebola doctor is being trailed by press to the hospital? Coincidence? I think not.

There are countries in the Middle East and elsewhere that have citizens willing to die for their freedom and live in peace, if we're smart will send them all the equipment and training necessary to achieve this.

Of course, this requires American leadership that will communicate a strategy concerning our determination to defend those individuals, including arming people, something the current regime is incapable of doing.

CNN live 40 hearses carrying

Terrorist victims in The Netherlands, along with memorial service. So touching and sad the grief another country has to go through. Beautiful countryside, road lined with mourners.

Hwy 54 between PTC & Fayetteville

If we have this new law about not driving in the left lane if you are impeding vehicles from passing you, I think it is time the FC Sheriffs Office come on out and step up patrols to enforce it. Man, that road is a clusterf%$# of clogged up vehicles in both lanes. I'd bet the majority do not even know about this new law.

Lane discipline is the last thing on many drivers minds..

They have no idea how much better traffic would flow if they would just follow this simple rule. "Slower Traffic Keep Right"...not even sure why we needed a new law, this has been the law in Georgia for years on multiple lane divided highways...yet people refuse to even bother. Oh well, that text coming in is more important anyways.

Left lane

Could be the same condition suffered by my late father-in-law. He lived in a retirement community in FL about 5 miles from the beach. When driving him and my mother-in-law to the beach, because part way there the right lane became a turn only, his instructions to me immediately after entering the highway were to get in the left lane. That was the way he did it and that was it.

Hate to think I'm now sneaking up on the age he was then. And btw, the left laners drive me nuts too.

You are right

My most recent experience was coming from Fayetteville this morning, the car in front of me had a driver who you could barely see over the back of the seat and they had a smartphone in their right hand with their arm extended almost over to the middle of car (talking on speakerphone, I guess...long distance...) and they were going 40 mph or less, and drifting in and out of lane. 55mph speed zone. There were cars to the right, all lined up and me behind this dude or dudette making up a new vocabulary that they might not understand with or without said phone if they could have heard me. Out of county tag.

Floridians are so Patriotic!

On the way down to Marco Island I came across several overpasses on I-75 crowded with people waving the US flag and carrying signs saying “Impeach Now” and “No Amnesty”.

Some more Patriots!

Seems there are a few in Indiana and Chicopee Massachusetts, too. Sixty five percent of applications of unaccompanied minors have been granted asylum immediately in 2014 by ICE. Sixty five percent.

Seems Barry's good buddy Gov. Deval Patrick has been lying when he has said they will only stay 4 months and be deported. These local leaders are now faced with this fight against Barry's policies.

Listen to the BEST press conference EVER on this by the Mayor of Chicopee (2nd link below) about the impact on his small city and what the Dept. of Defense has said against using military bases for this purpose. Even the Dept. of Defense has come out against this.

This is disgusting that the feds are forcing this situation on a city of 55,000. On a side note, in 1964 & 1965, the back yard of our home bordered the security perimeter fence with Westover AFB. 91 Mandalay Rd. I went to school in the Chicopee school system.

I can see it now...an attorney representing some fringe human rights group supported by the Democrats will sue the government claiming all those illegals are housed in buildings that contain asbestos and lead based paint.

BTW, I wonder how dear ole uncle Obama is doing?

LIES FROM DAVID STUDDARD

*** RINO ALERT ***

HERE IS THE EMAIL I RECEIVED FROM LAMAR COUNTY REPUBLICAN KENT KINGSLEY:

Dear Friends,

I have tried to stay out of the hotly contested state senate race, sure I have my favorite, but I haven't "involved" myself, until now. When I ran for Congress everything I said or in any my paid advertisements was the truth to the best of my knowledge. If a candidate for office can't tell the truth, just think what they will be like if elected.

Today I received a mailer and in the Barnesville paper was the same advertisement titled "David Studdard has been endorsed by these Lamar County Republican Leaders." There is the picture and names of four people. Let me tell you who has "endorsed Mr. Studdard" :

1. Frank Abbott (R), Lamar County Clerk. Frank is a great guy, we graduated from high school together and has a great wife and family. The problem? He is a life long democrat and has always been elected as a democrat.

2. John Stuckey, former Chair of the state party. I have been told he lives in Coweta County and since 1996 I have never seen him at the Lamar republican party.

3. Alton Russell, former Third District Chair. He is from Columbus.

4. Mark Butler, state Labor Commissioner. He is from Carrolton.

Those are the endorsements of Lamar County republican leaders? Three from outside the district and not from Barnesville and an elected democrat. How sad.

We must insist our elected leaders do better. The choice is up to you.

Enough already! You can't even hang up and use the phone, it stays connected until the whole little speech is done.

Either:
Put Joe Arpaio in charge, or
Tell Govts in contention here to either shut down the crime cartels doing the transporting of their citizens or we will come inand do it for them!

Hey gym,

Tell Govts in contention…

You mean to tell me that the president in sending down Biden and Kerry, to personally carry his message, is not enough???? I'm shocked!!!!

I am sure they were (are) speechless. It just feels like every federal protection agency is being undermined by....the effin' POTUS. This is so out of control. ICE, Border Patrol, FBI, TSA...and on and on to state and local. How long before all the above and ALPA say WTF and just shut down and let this just pollute this country to the point of no return? Or, better yet, I just say get the heavy weapon out...ALPA can threaten strike. I would back 'em to our non-existent borders if they did.

moe,

The Railway Labor Act would prevent a strike for matters like this; however, those "bus" drivers can exercise their muscle by raising this issue to the public's attention. It would make a great national news story.

It is an out of control free-for-all where even pro immigration liberals are banging poor ole Barry.

BTW, I see more left leaning talking-head shows that are acknowledging that Obama's speeches on immigration have helped to foster this current wave of illegals.

I wouldn't mind paying for a plane fare for Sheriff Babb to take that trip to Texas Tuesday, too. We know he knows how to run things in his neck of the woods.
