Mayoral hopeful Rehman ordered to pay Senoia’s court fees

Coweta County Superior Court Judge Dennis Blackmon ruled Thursday that Senoia resident and mayoral candidate Don Rehman will have to pay more than $7,000 in attorney’s fees and litigation costs incurred by the city in a failed lawsuit brought by Rehman earlier this year.

Rehman in May lost a lawsuit against the Senoia City Council over his interpretation of a city ordinance dealing with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Rehman and the city were back in court Thursday, with city attorney Drew Whalen asking that Rehman be responsible for the city’s attorney’s fees and court costs in the proceeding that Blackmon in May characterized as, “...the most ridiculous thing I have ever had in court, ever.”

Blackmon on Thursday ordered Rehman to pay $7,035.59 in attorney’s fees and litigation costs.

“The court finds (Rehman’s) bringing of this action was not a good faith attempt to establish a new theory of law and that it was not based on some recognized precedential or persuasive authority. The court concludes (Rehman’s) action totally lacked substantial justification in law or fact, was frivolous and a complete waste of the limited judicial resources of this court,” Blackmon said.

From his perspective, Rehman believed Whalen wanted him to make payment directly to the city, but he issued the funds to the court per Judge Blackmon’s order within three hours of the ruling, Rehman said Friday. The court will hold the funds until the appeal hearing next month before the Ga. Supreme Court.

Rehman said his money will be returned if his hearing before the Supreme Court is successful.

Track Record

In the real world the best way we have to predict the future actions of a person is to look at the sum total of that persons past actions. The links I posted clearly demonstrate, some in Rehman's own words, his actions and give clear insight into the mans character.
Despite numerous court rulings all the way to the U.S. Supreme court he still maintains they all got it wrong. Numerous judges, numerous attorneys and through all those layers they all got it wrong. Only he knows what is right. Then in his own words he describes how "divine justice" reaches down and he gloats in the misfortune of those who the legal system vindicated.
Now for a repeat with Senoia. He has lost two rounds in the court room of a respected judge. His case fails against the arguments of one of the best attorneys for municipal law in Georgia and yet he still maintains only he knows what is right. Only Rehman knows!
Look up the definition of "egotistical megalomaniac". Fits perfectly into the context of this mans repeated actions.
Now his response is to claim he is being unfairly attacked simply because others show a factual basis for an opinion that differs from his.
Nobody forced this man to run for office. He made a choice to enter an arena that opens up your life for others to publicly oppose and challenge your actions.
Given Rehmans track record, his own gloating words of "divine justice", and his continued actions the voters of Senoia have a solid basis for rejecting this candidate. The very definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over expecting different results.
The track record is clear.

re0046 - false accusation of hate

Is it hate when someone posts a URL to a website where a citizen can gain an understanding of your character, a website where YOUR OWN WORDS condemn you?
Is it hate when someone posts FACTS that demonstrate your character, facts that are validated by your own words and/or actions?
Is it hate when your fellow veterans berate you for trying to use your military service for personal gain?
To each of these questions, I believe the answer is a resounding NO!

To the other side,
Is it hate when you use a term like ‘murderous assassination’ against others?
Is it hate when you threaten lawsuits against neighbors when they disagree with you?
Is it hate when you constantly accuse the Mayor and Council of illegal activities, all the while knowing that your accusations are false?
To these three, the answer is easily yes.

Your quote of Jesus was offensive, but also inaccurate. We know exactly what we do! But I will counter with a paraphrase of another Scripture –
“Get the log out of your own eye before you try to remove the speck from mine!”

Not Baseball

Strike#1: Rehman looses in court in May. The judge rules his case is the most ridiculous thing he has ever had in his courtroom.
Strike#2: Rehman looses when the city counter sues for legal costs. Rehman is now out over $7000.
Strike#3: The last week of September or the first week of October the Georgia Supreme Court will toss Rehman's case and impose a $2500 sanction for wasting the courts time.
Strike#4: The city will then seek further legal costs from Rehman for the attorney fees spent responding to the Supreme Court Appeal.

Four strikes and Rehman still will not be out! He will just move on to another non issue in his egotistical megalomania power trip to get elected to something.

Remember you read it here first!!!

Enough Already!

"The court concludes (Rehman’s) action totally lacked substantial justification in law or fact, was frivolous and a complete waste of the limited judicial resources of this court."

You talk about providing "facts, doing analysis, and arriving at what is best for the City." Yet, you seemingly continue to dump this garbage into our court rooms, harass our city government, and make yourself appear to be nothing more than a vindictive old man. It appears that the community, local government and now the courts have completely rejected your ideas. Let it go!
