Cheering the start of a new season

The final score wasn’t very good (Starr’s Mill lost 42-3) but the Starr’s Mill cheerleaders kept up the school spirit throughout the game. The Panthers will hope to turn things around this Friday with a game at Fayette County. For more on this week’s games, see the story on Page D1 in Wednesday’s print eddition. Photo/Maddie Mercer.

Opinion

I am a soccer referee and each week I am on a soccer field almost every day. I hate seeing young men and women, sometimes as young as 12 or 13, with knee braces, casts, or on crutches.

Sports

If the “Fountain of Youth” really exists, it may be at the Canongate golf courses in Fayette and Coweta counties.
