Tribute Series at ‘The Fred’ wraps up with Departure
Peachtree City resident Chris Verdon is about to wrap up his third summer staging shows at The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. He brings in tribute acts, bands that sound, if not look, like famous acts. Past tribute concerts at “The Fred” have featured Slippery When Wet, a Bon Jovi tribute band, Big Shot, a Billy Joel tribute band, and Departure, a Journey tribute band based out of Georgia, among others. Departure put on a crowd-pleasing show last summer and Verdon knew he had to bring them back.
“Departure just hit the right target audience,” Verdon stated, adding that everybody had a great time.
Departure replicates the look, sound, and feel of the original 80’s rock super group, Journey, in concert. The five band members are all from the original line up and have been rocking together from the very beginning. These veteran musicians pride themselves on giving their audience an incredible high-energy stage show, appropriate for all ages, from start to finish.
Journey is best known for such hits as “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Open Arms,” and “Any Way You Want It” among dozens of others. Departure plays hundreds of shows around the country and prides themselves on giving the audience the true concert experience.
Gates for the shows in The Tribute Series open at 7 p.m. Ticket prices range from $15 for lawn to $40 for gold tables. Visit www.amphitheater.org for more information or www.ticketalternative.com to order tickets.
