The Twilight Theatre is now accepting applications for their 2010-2011 Apprentice Company. In its third year, the Mission of the Twilight Theatre Apprentice Company is to expose young people to the full spectrum of theater through example, education and experience while reinforcing important life skills such as teamwork, cooperation, dependability, responsibility, accountability, and respect. The Company is open to young people ages 11-18 and will be divided into three groups: Junior Apprentices (middle school); Senior Apprentices (high school); and a select group of Elite Apprentices (grades 9-12) who already have a strong knowledge base and are interested in receiving instruction in directing and advanced performance techniques under the mentoring of Twilight Artistic Director Alison Chambers.

All Apprentices will have opportunities to attend theater performances produced by professional, community, collegiate, and high school troupes, and some of the performances will include specially arranged backstage or preproduction visits. Monthly meetings provide opportunities for apprentices to learn from experts and each other, and workshops offered by Twilight and other organizations will further expand apprentices’ knowledge and skill base. There will also be apprentice-only shows, cabarets, and open mic nights.

The Twilight Theatre is a non-profit community theater performing in Fayette, Coweta, and S. Fulton Counties. The Twilight Theatre just completed it’s summer-stock production of Les Miserables and is rehearsing Guys and Dolls to be presented at The Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheatre, Sept. 3-4, 10-11. Apprentice shows in the 2009-2010 season were “Steel Magnolias” (Seniors) and “Bugsy Malone, Jr.” (Juniors). For more information on The Twilight Theatre or an Apprentice application go to www.thetwilighttheatre.com or email Apprentice Program Manager Danny McCranie at danny@thetwilighttheatre.com.
