‘Project Linus’ being ‘reborn’ at Community Christian Church
Community Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fayetteville is revitalizing the “Project Linus” program which makes no-sew fleece security blankets, receiving blankets, quilts, crotcheted and knitted afghans and comforters for newborns and children.
The organizational meeting is this morning at 10 a.m. Those interested are asked to to meet at the church, 349 Kenwood Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18.
Bring a sandwich and a drink and learn all about the project which is a 100 percent volunteer non-profit organization.
“Project Linus” volunteers provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill or tramatized children (ages 0 -18). These blankets are distributed to local hospitals, DEFACS offices, police, fire and sheriffs departments, and homeless shelters.
