1 arrested, 1 sought in armed robbery at N. Fayette home Wednesday

Officers have arrested one of two robbery suspects who held two north Fayette youngsters at gunpoint Wednesday and got away with $4,000 worth of items. Police are hunting for the second robber.

“Investigators have arrested Arnold A. Floyd Jr., 20, of Union City and charged him with two counts of armed robbery, burglary, two counts of cruelty to children in the 1st degree, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of kidnapping,” according to Brent Rowan, public information officer for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

“This case involved Floyd and a second suspect entering into a residence on Revina Trail in north Fayette County where they held a 16- and 12-year-old at gunpoint and proceeded to steal approximately $4,000 worth of items from inside the home. The two victims were not injured during the assault,” Rowan said.

“The victims in this case helped Fayette investigators positively identify the two suspects which led to the arrest of Floyd at his Union City home. Investigators have obtained numerous felony warrants for the second suspect in this case but are not yet releasing his identity,” Rowan said.
