‘When in the Course of human events . . .’

Led by the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), local Boy Scouts and citizens gathered in front of the Fayette County Courthouse Tuesday morning to read the Declaration of Independence. It concludes with the famous line, “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” Fifty-six signatures followed, 236 years ago this week.
