South Atlanta Tea Party to host “Tax Day” family event Friday evening

The South Atlanta Tea Party (SATP) will host its customary “Tax Day” event in a different format this year. SATP on April 15 will host its first American Liberty Summit at the Fayette Family Church at 1729 Ga. Highway 54 West between Peachtree City and Fayetteville. The free Friday evening program begins at 6:30 p.m. and pre-registration is requested.

Organizers said there will be a variety of speakers to discuss aspects of the core values of the Tea Party, which include limited government, fiscal responsibility, free market systems and the preservation of American heritage.

The event will include remarks from local business man and founding TEA Party member Marty Harbin, who will be speaking on the disturbing trend of government spending and ever increasing demand on taxpayers.

Also speaking will be Dr. Jody Hice, radio talk show host of Let Freedom Ring. Hice will tackle the challenging topic of radical Islam.

And U.S. Air Force (USAF) veteran and public speaker, T.C. Meuninck, will share how citizens can engage their politicians and make a difference in their community.

Organizers said there will be educational workshops for elementary, middle school and high school students.

“We welcome everyone to come to this event. Part of the South Atlanta TEA Party, and TEA Party Patriots’ mission in general, is to foster a more informed electorate. When it comes to being a good citizen it does not matter how old or young you are,” said SATP president Brian Graffius.

For more information about SATP and register for the Tax Day-American Liberty Summit, visit the events section of the SATP website, www.southatlantateaparty.org or register by emailing events@SouthAtlantaTEAParty.org with your name and number of attendees and their ages.

Jody Hice? Seriously?

******Hmmmm....all the previous comments critical of the jackbooted Teahadist thugs have disappeared! Fortunately, I saved my previous comment...*****

You know a Tea Party is on the decline when they have to dredge up Jody Hice to keynote an event!

Jody Hice, for the uninitiated, is a "Big Government" capital-S Social conservative. He's spent his whole life attempting to turn America into a "Christian Nation", working tirelessly to get the Ten Commandments into every public building and schoolhouse. He wants laws to permit Christian prayers at public events. He wants more regulations added to the IRS code to permit tax deductions to political parties. He wants judges who do not support his views impeached for failin' to perform their duties.

Hice ran for Congress as a Christian Nation conservative in 2010 and trounced the Tea Party candidate (Clay Cox). He then lost in a runoff to the big-business Republican candidate.

About the only thing that Hice has in common with the Teahadists is his deep-seated loathing for a Democratic President and a pathological hatred towards non-Christians.

Politics do indeed make strange bedfellows.
