Freedom vs. Obama’s ‘spreading the wealth’

My name is Michelle Fallon and I am 13 years old. I attend Trinity Christian School and am in seventh grade. My mom, Cindy Fallon, is the president of the South Atlanta TEA Party. She is continually trying to educate me on the history of our country, and the countries that have come before ours.

I was sitting in history class one day and we were talking about the differences between the American War for Independence and the French Revolution.

The main differences were that as follows: The French leaders tried to separate church and state and persecuted Christians. They tried to “spread the wealth” or as they called it, make everyone equal. Ultimately though, the French Revolution was a failure, over 40,000 people were killed and hundreds of thousands arrested.

America’s war, which was pretty much the opposite, was successful. But will we be successful again if we start to follow France’s misguided lead? Why can’t our leaders learn from past mistakes?

It would be hard for America to completely separate church and state because our heritage is so strongly Christian. During the war for independence, God was the thing that inspired us to fight, the thing that inspired our founding fathers as they wrote our constitution. Without God, we are not free; we are all slaves of our sins.

It is not merely a piece of paper that keeps America the land of the free; it is the fact that we have God’s grace guiding us to that freedom. If we take that away from our government, we have taken away the very basis that America was founded upon.

Writing this, I am reminded of a quote by C.S. Lewis, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”

If our leaders take the church away from the state, will America be blinded?

In the book, “The 5000 Year Leap,” it says, ”The proper role of government is to protect equal rights, not provide equal things.” Yes, all people have basic rights, but not all people have the same jobs. Some people go to college, some don’t. The majority that go get better jobs and get paid more. So does that mean that these people aren’t equal anymore?

If our current leaders continue to try and make everyone equal, where will that lead us?

I have always been taught that if I worked hard, then I could be anything I wanted to be. But if my neighbor doesn’t have the same work ethic as me and decided to drop out of school, when I am older should I have to pay taxes to support that person?

I believe in charity and helping people, but I don’t want to help someone that won’t help themselves. Those people aren’t using their talents and skills to make a living and I don’t want to give up my hard-earned money to support them.

America, I am worried, but I know that God is in control; do you know that? Now I ask all of our preachers, Christians, and just regular people to pray for our country that we could elect wise leaders that can lead America back into God’s ready, open arms.

Fallon spreading conservatism

Michelle,

The 5000 Year Leap book is a dangerous tool. Do you realize that this book advocates LESS spending and getting back to the original constitution? Do you realize this book uses statements from the founding father's in THEIR own words?

Michelle you must put this book down immediately. We can not have ideas like conservatism catching on like wild fire in the minds of this county. Why if THAT happened you could see less spending NO SPLOST and then you are likely to see this spread to the state and federal level.

Michelle what would we do without the government controlling 60% of the private sector or without the 14 trillion dollar deficit. These have become our friends and security blanket. You are advocating RADICALISM by quoting this book. I mean its scary to think that these thoughts and practices could lead to even the federal government balancing their budget at sometime.

What will the people do without entitlements and earmarks? Michelle you are advocating a NEW FORM of government.

These are indeed scary times. May we all remember as we read your words that it only takes a spark to get a fire going. I think we just saw a spark.

Great post.
