Mr. Harvey Jackson “Jack” Bramlett, Jr., 91, of Hampton

Mr. Harvey Jackson “Jack” Bramlett, Jr., 91, of Hampton, formerly of Atlanta, died on March 19, 2010.

He was a veteran of WWII, having proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps and was an amateur radio enthusiast for many years with the call sign of W4PIM. Mr. Bramlett was a “Railroad Man” whose career lasted over 30 years. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Station Master with the Atlanta Terminal Company, which later became Southern Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lovejoy.

He is preceded in death by his two wives, Kathryn Leila Pair Bramlett and Rosa Atkinson Bramlett. He is survived by his daughter Carolyn & Sonny Smithwick of Fayetteville; daughter Nancy & Bill Bonner of Fayetteville; son Danny & Wanda Bramlett of Hampton; grandchildren, Alan Smithwick (Tracy) of Fayetteville, Susan Smithwick Wright of Fayetteville, John Bonner of Atlanta, Jason Bonner (Shannon) of Fayetteville, Josh Bonner (Michelle) of Fayetteville, Jonah Bonner (Jessica) of Panama City, FL, Chris Bramlett (Dana) of Jackson, GA; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Mike Hardin will officiate. The burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. I knew Jack in the 60s when he lived near Ft Mac in Atlanta. He could copy CW in his head. He built some ham equipment using military surplus parts
as I did. I used to talk to Jack from my home built mobile on 75 meters.
He was at home during the day then as he worked at night for the RR.
I have often thought of Jack and wondered what happened to him after he moved.Thanks for posting the info.
