Sany to mark completion of first phase
Ceremony slated for Monday to recognize company efforts, $60M investment
Peachtree City will be hosting some very important guests from China in coming days as Sany America plans to celebrate the completion of the first phase of its assembly plant and office complex in a ceremony Monday.
Sany is headquartered in Hunan Province, China and its first American foray will bring much-needed jobs to Peachtree City’s industrial park. Sany America currently employs 108 people and expects to double that figure by the end of 2012.
The facility will eventually include provisions for assembly of five different types of construction machinery including the "RT" (the Sany Global Rough Terrain Crane). The RT is the first North American-specific product developed through a collaborative design effort between its parent company (the Sany Group Ltd.) and Sany North America.
The facility will also be responsible for assembling crawler cranes, excavators, motor graders and concrete pump trucks. Assembly and production will gear up later this year, company officials said. As the U.S. headquarters, the Peachtree City SANY America facility will also include R&D, sales, service, and distribution operations as well.
Chinese officials participating in Monday afternoon’s ceremony include Hunan Province Governor Qiang Zhou, Sany Group Ltd. Chairman Wengen Liang and Yanping Gao of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston.
Also slated to participate are other officials including Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and Peachtree City Mayor Don Haddix.
“The completion of Sany America’s facility signifies a new milestone in Sany’s globalization initiative,” said Sany chairman Liang. ”This will bring Sany’s philosophy of ‘Quality Changes the World’ to the next level. The new facility will enable the company to provide the North American market and the other global customers with superior products and services.”
The company’s investment in its campus, located south of Cooper Lighting off Ga. Highway 74 south, is estimated to be about $60 million to date. Construction began in June 2010.
SANY Group Ltd. was founded in 1989 and has exceeded sales revenues of $8 billion with 53,000 employees in over 120 countries. The parent company is one of the world’s largest concrete machinery manufacturers and the largest concrete-pumping equipment company in China. SANY Group Ltd. ranks among the Forbes “Top Chinese Enterprises” and has 30 subsidiaries worldwide and exports to 110 countries. Besides the U.S. location in Georgia, other SANY facilities include five industrial parks in China and R&D and manufacturing/assembly locations in Germany, India and Brazil.
