Lake Mac is full

The recent rains have added up and up when it comes to the level of Fayette County’s new drinking water reservoir: Lake McIntosh, which straddles Peachtree City and Coweta County. The lake is now full, according to a Friday morning report from Fayette County Water System Director Tony Parrott. Photo/Freddy Frank.

Line Creek flooding near Senoia?

Doesn't that run down below the Lake Mac dam and under Rockaway Rd.?

Full so quickly

I am amazed at how quickly it filled up. Estimates were anywhere from one to two years, rain dependent. It doesn't seem like we had THAT much rain lately. It must not be very deep. Hopefully the level will not vary dramatically like Lake Horton does.

Lake Mac

It has been interesting watching the development of Lake Mac. I walk my dogs (yes i carry clean up bags;hint hint to some of you)around this area every day weather permitting. Early December I could have walked from Planterra to Cowetta County without getting mud on my shoes then the rains came. Now we have a lake above full pool. My question is,where would this water be had they not built Lake Mac?

Where is a good place to go to view this lake?

I posted a while ago on this. Go to Planterra golf course club house parking lot and then go up the hill to the office building up above. Go to the far side of the building, there is one parking spot that just about drops off the cliff there. Look behind both the clubhouse and this building to get the enormity of this lake. I was there yesterday and there was a lone kayaker out there in the middle and it was windy so there was some wave action. He must have a lot of confidence, because he was all alone out there. The view is not of the whole lake, but you will see a good portion of it. Makes Lake Peachtree look like a pond. It is more than 3 times the size of that lake. The road to the park is supposed to be paved any time now and I believe the park will open this spring.
