1st-time attendee ‘shocked’ by Frady’s yells
Last Thursday night I attended my first Fayette Commissioners meeting. I see a sheriff’s deputy sitting near the commissioners. I see next to him three reporters. We all stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by prayer. Less than 20 seconds later, the pledge and prayer were “Gone With the Wind.”
I was shocked, to say the least, to witness Chairman Herb Frady yelling not only to Steve Brown, but to the citizens that took turns with their five-minute speeches to commissioners.
I was prepared to read to commissioners the threatening letter I received from a Fayette County-hired agent from McDonough, Ga. This county company came on my land unbeknownst to me. They trespassed on my property. They sent me an offer of $2,000 for my land. They harassed my place of business constantly trying to get in touch with me. Last week I received a threatening letter from this county hired agent telling me that I have until Jan. 29 to satisfy them or they will proceed to sue me.
It is hard on me being alone to fend for myself. I was made a widow at the acts of Fayette County and now the county wants to take my land. What else does this county want from me?
The citizens of Fayette County have no idea what will happen to their property value with this West Fayetteville Bypass. Fayetteville will be the new Union City and Peachtree City will be the new Riverdale. All of us have seen our home value fall due to the recession. Wait until this “bypass” is constructed. Everyone in this county will see a drastic decrease in their home value.
Developers will come out of the woods with huge, deep pockets to try to buy the rest of our land that the county didn’t steal for commercial use. No more country roads and farms in this county. Hello, the new Union City!
Yes, there is blatant censorship and cover-up in this county. I urge everyone in this county to get off the couch and attend these meetings. See for yourself. Don’t say I didn’t try to warn you.
There is one thing the citizens can do which will force transparency in this county: Contact our senator with a phone call. You will be asked to send a letter. When the senator receives your letter, it will be sent to the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. The feds will investigate and then we will have transparency with no censorship. I have my letter ready. Do you?
