A Fayetteville man wanted for stabbing his wife to death at Landmark Mobile Home Park Friday night has surrendered to sheriff’s deputies, officials said.
Jesus Ojeda Jimenez, 34, is charged with murder in the slaying of Liliana Ruiz, 30, of Fayetteville at a home on Greenview Circle in north Fayette County.
Jimenez turned himself in at the Fayette County Jail Saturday, officials said.
Detectives credited Jimenez’s family members for playing a “crucial part” in his voluntary surrender.
It was also reported that Jimenez was cooperating with investigators about the events which transpired.
The investigation began when deputies were summoned to the residence on Greenview Circle and found Ruiz had been stabbed to death, officials said.
An eyewitness at the scene told deputies that the suspect had fled to a nearby residence, which was surrounded by Fayette County deputies and officers from the Peachtree City and Fayetteville police departments.
After being unable to establish communications with anyone inside the home, SWAT officers from all three departments entered the home and were unable to locate the suspect, officials said.
Investigators are not releasing any additional information at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
According to court records, Jimenez pled guilty in February 2010 to one count each of battery and cruelty to children. Four months later, an arrest warrant was issued for Jimenez, although details of that warrant are not immediately available.

Blv the first account I read about Jimenez said he was suspected to have "strong connections with Mexico." What in the hell does that mean?

Like maybe he is a citizen of our 58th state.
Ok, I'll just say it - he's an illegal alien. Illegal. Not undocumented. Illegal. Now he is a double illegal with the murder rap on him, but should we not consider keeping illegals out of the country before they start killing people here? Even if the murder vics were also illegal, I don't want this in my backyard.

Gene61, the cruelty to children charge does not necessarily mean he had beaten his children. That charge can also be brought if he committed the offense of battery on his wife in front of the kids. Anyway, I'm really glad this guy has been arrested.

Another coward who earlier beat kids and charged with cruelty to children. Now he takes a life , what a loser..
Side note, Hope the sheriff's dept opens back the " Search current inmates " section on their page soon..Transparent operations is important.

Is this thang grounded? Don't hear much about this waste of taxpayer $$$. Whatever faults the previous county commish's had, they were right about the waste of money behind the 'copter. Their court battle made much more "cents" than fighting about district voting.
The good book says An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. What is sickening is that the liberal parties don't believe in the DEATH PENALTY.
IF there is no doubt that the guy done it, then fry him. Why let this linger for years to come with appeal after appeal. Talking about saving the tax payers money, where there you go. Upon conviction, schedule him on the next bus to hell. Maybe even a public execution. Show the thugs that we mean business.
