I'm
originally from Gainesville, Georgia. I've lived in Fayetteville
since 1987 and I'm a 1992 graduate of Fayette County High School.
I attended the State University of West Georgia and graduated in
1997 with a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design. While
at the State University of West Georgia I was an art scholarship
winner, a 1997 Eclectic Magazine art co-winner, and enjoyed print
making, watercolor and pastel classes. These days, however, I don't
get to spend as much time as I would like painting or drawing. I
also took six art history classes that included museum trips to
New York City, Athens, Greece, the island of Crete, Mexico, France,
Austria and Italy. These trips were, of course, trips of a lifetime
that led me to a new hobby and my own business.
My
sister and I are Creative Memories consultants. Creative Memories
is an archival, photo-safe way of scrapbooking that teaches the
importance of preserving the past, enriching the present and inspiring
hope for the future. As consultants we not only hold monthly workshops
and teach home classes, but we also help people organize their photos
and create safe and meaningful albums.
I
worked as a graphic designer for the Fayette Daily News for a year
and a half after graduating from the State University of West Georgia.
I
came to the Citizen Newspapers in January of 1999 as a webmaster
and graphic designer maintaining our daily Web site and designing
ads (mostly car dealerships) for our four publications.
