I
was born in a small community called Edgewater Park, in New York
right on the edge of the water, as the name suggests. It was a warm
community where everyone knew each other and where my parents have
lived for over 50 years.
My
first sales experience came when I was 19 and my ex-husband and
I bought the local candy store. Not only did I learn about sales
and marketing as a business owner, but I also saw sales from the
other side of the fence as a buyer.
In
my early 20s I was more interested in being wife and mother than
having a career. My two greatest joys are my children. Lori graduated
magna cum laude from Alburn University and is currently working
as a CPA for Heinz and living in Pittsburgh with her husband, Adam.
Danny graduated from the University of Georgia and is working as
a stock trader for Northern Trust Securities in Atlanta. Two other
people that are very special to me and a part of my extended family
are Pete Clark and his daughter Amanda, who is a sophomore in high
school.
I
am one of only two of the original Citizen employees. I began as
classified advertising director and remember very well putting together
those first classified pages. As the newspaper grew, I went back
into outside sales, where I had been working for many years with
This Week in Peachtree City, The Fayette Daily News, The Suburban
Post and The Business Ledger. I have been the Citizen's top sales
person since 1996 and have been proud to watch the Citizen grow
and play a part in its success.
I
have been a workaholic for many years and have recently decided
to slow down a little and enjoy life before it passes me by. In
the last two years, I have been to Europe twice and have been on
eight cruises. I hope to retire one day and live on the beach once
again, play a little golf, enjoy my family and travel, travel, travel!
